Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has announced that its AccurioLabel 400 has been installed at Label Tec Scotland. The UK's first installation of Konica Minolta’s digital label press delivers high resolution and print speed for the Scottish label converter.
Based in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Label Tec Scotland creates label products that identify and enhance the qualities of its many customers' products. The company has been relying on technology from Konica Minolta for more than 20 years, so when it was looking for a new press that would increase capacity and widen its offering to customers looking for quality, flexibility and agility, Label Tec Scotland again turned to Konica Minolta.
“During a visit to Labelexpo last year we noticed how many of the digital technologies on the market have changed very little over the last five years," notes Paul Dunne, managing director, Label Tec. "The AccurioLabel 400 offers something different, printing incredibly high resolution at speeds matching traditional flexographic presses. It also produces an opaque white that can match anything on the market today. What is more there is no need to pre-coat the wide range of substrates we are able to print on.”
The AccurioLabel 400 is capable of speeds up to 39.9 m/m, depending on the media type and color combinations, with print data processed at a resolution of 1200 dpi x 2400 dpi. Furthermore, tasks such as color adjustments, color registration control and calibration are fully automated with Intelligent Quality Care.
Dunne adds, “I believe this is a safe investment for my business, and it enables Label Tec Scotland to exploit the medium to higher run digital print segment in the market.”
In 2019, Label Tec Scotland was the first company in the UK to install the AccurioLabel 230, which helped to keep customers supplied with labels during the pandemic. The company is now the first to take advantage of Konica Minolta’s AccurioLabel 400.
"We have been working with Label Tec Scotland for more than 20 years," explains Jon Pritchard, label and inkjet consultant, Konica Minolta. "During this time, it has continuously introduced new and innovative technologies, enabling their customers to capitalize on creative new ways for their products to be identified, marketed and sold. Konica Minolta is delighted that the first AccurioLabel 400 in the UK has found a happy home in Airdrie.”
