Spinnaker Coating, a manufacturer and service provider of pressure sensitive paper and film products for the printing industry, has introduced FC-125, a direct food contact adhesive.
This hot-melt adhesive is FDA approved for direct food contact to fruit and vegetable skins. Paired with a 40# semi-gloss paper facestock, the combination provides a product that not only prints and diecuts well, but that adheres to the various textures inherent in the food surfaces.
“Ensuring proper standards of non-toxicity are critical for direct food contact applications,” says Joel Ulrich, roll product marketing manager. "And this product offers label printers an option that passes those governmental regulations.”
The construction meets 21 CFR 176.170 and 176.180 for facestocks and 21 CFR 175.125(b)(2) for adhesives.
“FC-125 is a nice complement to our already successful portfolio of food packaging products, and providing it in a trimless construction makes it easy for our customers to purchase only the amount they need, allowing better inventory management," adds Ulrich.
