AVT, a global leader in print inspection, print process control and quality assurance, will introduce an extensive roster of new products at drupa, May 31-June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Located at Hall 9, Stand C60, and with more than 15 systems across its partners’ stands, AVT enters the show with automatic inspection and quality management solutions for the label and packaging industries. According to AVT, approximately 50% of all high-end inspection and quality assurance systems in these two sectors are AVT platforms.
At drupa, AVT will introduce a set of next-generation solutions and technologies, including new digital press inspection and control solutions such as the new Helios D inspection system, which is designed specifically for digital label presses. There are also new inline color management solutions; a new cloud-based quality standards and automation platform; inspection solutions for label and corrugated boards, driven by AVT’s alliance with Erhardt and Leimer (E+L); and web inspection platforms such as the new Turbo HD line for label and packaging applications.
At drupa, AVT will premiere the Helios D digital press inspection, an automatic, 100% print inspection solution designed to meet the specific needs of digital printing in the labels and narrow web markets. Based on AVT’s proven, well-established Helios product line, Helios D supports all stages of digital production workflow, including the identification of specific defects like missing nozzles, ink dripping spots, and color changes as soon as they occur. The result is reduced waste, enhanced production and comprehensive process monitoring.
Helios D allows operators to take corrective measures at the very inception of a defect, before waste becomes widespread, including continuous tracking of the inkjet print heads to provide a preventive maintenance scheduler tool.
During drupa, AVT will present four 100% Inspection systems on HP Indigo presses. These include the debut of Apollo 30K, which was designed for the HP Indigo 30000 Folding Carton press, the Helios S Turbo on the new HP 8000 narrow web press and Apollo 20K for the HP Indigo 20000 flexible packaging press.
AVT will also showcase its new Jet-IQ, a closed loop solution for digital inkjet presses. Installed on digital presses from Heidelberg, Landa and other prominent vendors, Jet-IQ is a quality engine that works in synergy with press controllers to maintain exemplary print quality.
In addition, visitors will see the premiere of AVT’s Turbo HD series, offering high-definition resolution inspection along and across the web at full press and rewinder speeds. Helios Turbo HD, the world’s most advanced inspection system for label and narrow web applications that originates from AVT’s market-proven Helios platform (nearly 2,000 installations worldwide). AVT also will offer a technology demonstration of Helios’ multi-head architecture, meeting the emerging needs of printers to inspect Extended Content Label applications and dual sided web printing across multiple stations.
The new 100% inspection Turbo HD wide web technology, which supports HD quality at very high speeds along and across very wide webs will be on display, as well. SpectraLab II, a new generation of inline spectral measurement for nearly any application, and AVT’s new iCenter Platform, a next-generation cloud-based solution for quality control automation and production performance insights, will also be displayed.
AVT is using the event to showcase its recent strategic alliance with leading process equipment provider Erhardt+Leimer (E+L). The partnership combines the two companies’ technologies to offer a comprehensive array of end-to-end solutions for packaging and label converters, from measurement and viewing to inspection and quality control solutions.
“Drupa provides a prominent stage for AVT to premiere a host of valuable new print quality solutions, from digital inspection and press controls to cloud-based workflow automation and color measurement solutions, each aimed at better serving our customers’ evolving quality control needs," says Jaron Lotan, AVT president and CEO. "Notably, we are particularly proud to have emerged as the premiere inspection solutions choice for digital printers, as shown by our alliances with industry leaders in this sector such as HP Indigo, Gallus-Heidleberg, Landa, and EFI.“
