The permanent acrylic adhesive offers cold flow resistance for dry film edges. The proprietary inkjet receptive coating was designed for use by label converters with most industrial inkjet imagers and is widely used with VIPColor VP2020 and Primera printers for prime label applications. JetLOC is available in 2.0 mil label stock and 6.0 mil tag stock.
LaserLOC is a durable PET label stock that is available in both white and clear in gloss, satin or matte finishes. LaserLOC provides receptivity to continuous digital printing and satisfies demanding applications as a primary digital color printable substrate. The highly receptive laser top coating offers toner adhesion through most high-speed hot laser and cold/flash fusion printers. The LaserLOC product line offers high performance substrates for VIPColor VP 8020, Degrava and most other production laser imagers.
acpo introduces 691V, a UV screening overlaminate film. 691V was created to give label manufacturers an alternative to using expensive UV inks in their label printing processes. 691V is a clear, durable, polyester PSA overlaminate containing a film additive in the formulation. This allows the overlaminate to combat harmful UV rays and protect the label inks and base material from deterioration. Label manufacturers can use the 691V in conjunction with their standard water-based inks for optimum print label quality, appearance and durability.
Because 691V is capable of enduring the harsh UV rays, it is ideal for indoor and outdoor applications where UV light is present. The 691V polyester overlaminate is offered in 14" and 60" web widths, slit to customer specifications. Standard roll lengths of 5,000' are available with orders for longer roll lengths accepted. This overlaminate product is run and ready to ship same day or next day.
Kanzaki Specialty Papers has developed a line of products to cover both thin and thick film stocks for both pressure sensitive and tagging applications. The Kanzaki Polycash product line is for fanfold and single cut direct thermal plastic card stock. A new line of tear resistant direct thermal films at 4 mil, 6 mil, 7 mil, and 10 mil calipers gives narrow web flexo converters a matrix of product solutions to cover any durable tagging application, regardless of cost or performance requirement.
Using several different unique high tear strength based films, Kanzaki applies coating directly to the targeted film so that no lamination between films is needed to build caliper. This method of manufacture avoids many of the problems of composite film products, while enhancing the benefits of competitive cost, reduced adhesive residue on press and tools, remarkable lay flat properties, and splice reduction.
The new tear resistance direct thermal film stocks, which are called Polycash XTR products, also feature enhanced environmental stability. Users can punch a hole in it, staple it, make a keyhole out of it, apply adhesive, or hang it on a cable tie.
Kanzaki also offers some new advanced lightweight film label stocks with extremely high direct thermal dynamic response curves. The company is seeking partners who have an immediate need for 12" per second or higher print speed applications.
Two new polypropylene label facestocks are coming to market along with white polyester. These films can be used interchangeably in both Indigo and color laser printers. There is no longer a need to have two different items for each type of digital printing process, as a single film can cover both printing methods, electroink or color toner. Lightweight white PP films will be offered through roll stock laminators, and white PET films will be sold either through laminators or direct to those who compete in sheetfed applications.
Rayven Inc. has introduced "Any-Pak" release liner. It was created with the packaging industry in mind for products including plastic bags, mailing envelopes, pouches, and security bags. The release liners are constructed using a 2 mil polypropylene as the substrate with a release coating that works well with hot melt and PSA adhesives. The liner also includes the printed message "remove to expose adhesive" on one side.
Rayven believes one key benefit of the "Any-Pak" release liner is that the product will be packaged and ready to ship within 24 hours from the time of purchase. Currently, the release liner is stocked in four widths: 1.0", 1.25", 1.5", and 1.75" all by 12,000' in length. Other sizes will be available on a custom order basis.
