API Group has strengthened its presence in the US with the appointment of Michael Frederick to business unit president and general manager, API Americas. Based from API’s US headquarters in Lawrence, Frederick will oversee the company’s North American foils and laminates businesses and will be responsible for driving forward API’s long-term growth strategy in the US.
Frederick holds more than 30 years of experience in the paper and packaging industry, and he previously served as president and CEO of privately-owned Commercial Lithographing Company, which specializes in labels, greetings cards, and envelopes. Prior to this, Frederick was vice president of Huhtamaki’s Food Service packaging business in North America.
With many years of knowledge and experience in sales and market development for the paperboard, folding carton, and packaging industry, as well as creating new product lines to secure extensive revenue growth, Frederick joins at a time when API has made significant investments in its US capability as a platform for growth.
“This is a key appointment for API Americas, and Michael’s extensive experience in the packaging sector will be invaluable as we seek to strengthen our presence in the US,” says Dino Kiriakopolous, CEO, API Group. “He has a proven track record for delivering results and identifying new opportunities, and we look forward to welcoming Michael to the senior management team.”
Frederick adds, “API Americas is quickly gaining traction as a key player in the US packaging market, which makes it an exciting time to join. My role will be an opportunity to use my knowledge and experience to develop API’s presence even further, working with the senior management team to increase revenue opportunities across the board.”
