Multi-Color Corp. (MCC) has announced a plan to expand its operations in Scottsburg, Indiana, USA, investing about $13 million to equip and retool its 120,500-square-foot manufacturing plant. Also, the expansion would create 154 new jobs by 2020, according MCC.
The expansion aims to increase operating efficiency and increase production volume. Multi-Color has about 3,350 associates worldwide, including about 220 full-time Indiana employees. It already has begun hiring for manufacturing, administrative and supervisory positions.
"Our continued investment in our Scottsburg facility is a result of our committed work force, strong customer base and historical performance," says Lesha Spahr, global vice president of human resources at Multi-Color.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered MCC as much as $1 million in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants, based on the company's job-creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, which means the company is not eligible to claim incentives until workers are hired. The city of Scottsburg approved additional incentives at the request of the Scott County.
Multi-Color, founded in 1916, has 33 label manufacturing locations across six continents and serves the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and China.
