GPA, a provider of specialty substrates and solutions for offset, digital and wide format inkjet printing, has been awarded the designation of Best Workplace in the Americas for 2014 by the Printing Industries of America (PIA) for their exemplary human resource practices.
This is GPA’s eighth win since the award’s inception in 2000.
“Obtaining the title of Best Workplace in the Americas for a total of eight years says a lot about our commitment and consistent effort to provide a good foundation for our employees, while developing our organization and the people in it,” says Heather Jenkins, SPHR, director of human resources for GPA. “This is what allows us to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones to reach new heights we never thought were possible. It’s my pleasure to be part of such a winning team of eager individuals and I’m excited to continue our incessant mission of becoming better with each passing day.”
Run by the PIA, this award program uses key metrics to compare GPA’s human relations programs and policies to other companies in the graphic arts industry. A panel of HR professionals with decades of experience in the graphic arts industry reviewed the submissions.
All applicants were judged on eight criteria: management practices, work environment, training and development, financial security, workplace health and safety, work-life balance, recognition and rewards, and health and wellness programs.
