The College Challenge, now in its fifth year, will be held in conjunction with this year's FFTA Annual Forum and INFO*FLEX event in San Antonio, TX, USA. According to organizers, the event draws from leading graphic communications higher education institutions - including Clemson University, CalPoly State University, and Dunwoody College - to encourage the further development of graphic arts education and career skills support. The competition expands student participation by including in-depth planning and development of consumer packaged goods designs while incorporating the knowledge and skills of flexographic printing.
The 15th annual High School Skills Competition will be held at the Harper National Flexographic Center at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, USA. According to a statement by the PCF, this high school competition sets the stage for young flexographers to compete with each other and to showcase their knowledge of flexo printing theory and graphic arts. They are rewarded with on-going educational scholarships and prize trophies to encourage further career development. The High School Skills Competition is a skills-based program that lasts three days, features pre-press, on-press, and general knowledge skills tests. More than 30 teams are scheduled to participate in this year's event.
In an effort to support the mission of PCF, the organization has made available scholarships in support of its fundraising for this year's competition and scholarship programs.
